Andres Avelino Robles Luna

1860 – 1929

Andres was born November, 10, 1860 in Ures, Caborca, Sonora, Mexico. He was baptized 10 days later, November 20, 1860, at San Miguel Arcangel Catholic Church located in Ures.

At this point of research, Andres is the first born child of Francisco & Rita. His family line was not easy to ‘discover’. I can’t even take credit because after 15 years of research, I did not know a thing about his line after searching high and low.

Bertha Robles, the wife of Andres’ great grandson Bobby, sent me an email back before covid, probably 2019, asking about our next family reunion. Her name made me curious because we don’t have a Bertha Robles in our genealogy. So I dropped her an email and asked if I could call her so we could “meet”. We must have talked 3 hours.

Total disclosure is that Edith, a sister of Bobby’s, had tested her DNA. She and I are DNA matches. So years before Bertha came into the picture, I contacted Edith and attempted to establish if we shared a common ancestor. Edith and I never really connected, but she mentioned me to Bertha who years later contacted me out of the blue. And the rest is history as Bertha is a font of knowledge when it comes to the Andres line.

Andres married Refugia RIVERA. They had 8 children. Andres passed away on November 29, 1909 in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
