Plutarco Robles Luna
1858 – 1930
Plutarco was born in Ures, Sonora, Mexico. He died in Douglas, Arizona.
Plutarco and his wife Jesus ‘Jesusita’ Medrano had children. Narciso, Rita, Dolores, Amalia, Plutarco, Francisco & Cruz.
I really came to know his descendants because of his daughter Amalia. Something unexplainable drew me to Amalia. I wanted to meet her so badly. At the time I was researching, many cousins had known her. Though she was deceased, the cousins knew her children and I was pointed in the right direction.
The Plutarco line is quite large. But, I started out with finding Irene Robles his great granddaughter who lived in Tucson. Boy, was I lucky. She was skeptical of me at first but, in the end she encouraged my efforts. She and her sister Genevieve provided stories, pictures and more stories. We laughed a lot. More importantly they encouraged the rest of their family to help with the genealogy. Sam & Martha, Irene’s siblings come to mind. Coco Robles, Tomas Aldana, Barbara Pino, Ester Cocio, Leila Aldana, David Aldana to name a few cousins that helped out in big ways. Pete Robles, I can’t forget Pete.
Credit for this wonderful picture goes to Maria Lopez, Plutarco’s great-granddaughter. Just when I had given up thinking I might ever have a picture of him, Maria came through. Simply amazing and he looks so Robles.
