Documents
PRIMARY documents are original records created at the time of an event. Such as birth, marriage, death, military, probate, burial, census, newspapers, letters, incarceration records and family Bibles. Will these records agree with one another such as a person’s date of birth? The answer is, not always. SECONDARY ‘documents’ are a source of information; not necessarily first-hand and not recorded. Examples are utility bills, club memberships, biographies, obituaries.
These pages offer you a small sampling of family primary documents in no particular family order. Continue to search each person’s genealogy. There are hundreds of primary and secondary documents in each family’s genealogy.
