Alejandro Santa Cruz, 17, of Tucson, Arizona passed away September 11, 2005. Preceded in death by his grandmother, Margaret A. Santa Cruz. Survived by his parents, Richard & Leticia Santa Cruz; grandparents, Gilbert M. Santa Cruz and Norma Pedrego; Godparents, Gilbert A. Santa Cruz and Victoria E. Santa Cruz; brothers, Richard Santa Cruz, David Santa Cruz and Antonio Pedrego. Also survived by many uncles,, aunts, cousins, niece, friends and schoolmates who attended Cholla High School. Pueblo high School and American Little League. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 15, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary.

A 21-year-old Tucson man who shot two brothers after he was turned away last year will spend the next 22 years in prison.
According to court documents and testimony, gang member Marco Franco Puente and some friends tried to get into a Downtown party on Sept. 11, 2005 and asked to leave because they had been drinking.

During Puente's sentencing hearing Tuesday, members of the Santa Cruz family expressed disappointment in the Pima County Attorney's Office for negotiating an agreement and asked that Puente be given the maximum sentence.
