My father did not have a middle name. That's practically unheard of in the Hispanic culture.
I asked him why he didn't have a middle name. He said he had no idea and never asked his parents about it. It just was not important to him.

Cremation
His ashes were strewn into the ocean off the San Pedro pier
He was cremated by the Neptune Society.
My dad was not one to want any sort of memorial or church service when he died. Just cremate him and spread his ashes in the ocean that he loved so much. He was a Navy man and for him having his ashes spread into the ocean was ideal.
I watched as his ashes were poured off the boats edge into the water. His ashes kind of swirled in a vortex kind of action. They circled around and faded from view the deeper they went until finally I could see him no longer. It was a very cold, and dreary morning and there was mist all about.
I was not crazy about his decision to throw his ashes into the sea, but I knew that's what he really wanted to happen to his mortal remains. So it was done.
