- OBITUARY
Carmen Robles Carrillo "Mama Carmen", 91, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away peacefully with family at her side on March 13, 2013. She was born in Pirtleville, Arizona on May 20, 1921. In 1946 she met Adam Benitez Carrillo in Peoria, Arizona and that same year they were married in Phoenix. Carmen was known to everyone as "Mama Carmen" because of her generosity and passion in helping people, including children in need. She always carried her faith with her and took pleasure in being a mother, nana, and great grandma. She also enjoyed watching Diamondback baseball in her spare time. Carmen is preceded in death by her husband Adam, her son; Adam, Jr., by three brothers; Jose Robles, Gilberto Robles and Gregorio Robles, and by one sister,; Marta Galindo. She is survived by her children; Arturo Carrillo (Debbie) and Cruzita Minero (Jose), by her sister; Maggie Martinez, by two brothers; Jesus Robles of Tucson and Frank Robles of Douglas, Arizona. and by her daughter in law, Rosie Carrillo.
Carmen leaves behind seven grandchildren; Sybil, Abigail, Alberto, Melissa, Francisco, Larissa and Nikki, three great grandchildren; Alberto Jose, Nickolas, and Isabell, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
A visitation and funeral service will be held at the Maryvale Church of Nazarene, 3201 N. 51st Ave, in Phoenix on Monday, March 18, 2013. the visitation begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by Carmen's funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Carmen's family would like to extend their deep appreciation and gratitude to the kind and compassionate caregivers at Home for Comfort (Kory and Jose). Home 2 Home (Martha and Milane), and Hospice of the Valley. Arrangements are being held under the direction of Resthaven Park Mortuary & Cemetery
