Flora was the 3rd wife of my great-grandfather, Vicente Miguel Robles. He married her a few years before he died. He had been a widow for decades as his 2nd wife Margarita died in 1914.
Flora was not much liked by his grown children, Mike, Anita, Carlota & Carlos. When Miguel died, she inherited his property and worldly goods. These included homes he had built for his children, at least for my grandmother.
My mother recalled the day when Flora came calling to tell my grandmother Carlota she had to vacate the home. Her and her 7 children. At the time my mother was probably
17.
My mother definitely did not have a good opinion of Flora. She was very close to her mother and didn't like her mother being evicted from a home her grandfather had built for them.
And Carlota's children adored their grandfather Miguel.
So, Flora is the evil step-grandmother in this story.
